about
Giant Walker release their 4th single, ‘Left To Wreck’ on 25th February 2022. Previous singles ‘The Fact in Fiction’, ‘Past The Peak’ and ‘Optophobia’ picked up coverage with the likes of Rolling Stone, Planet Rock, BBC, Louder Sound/Prog Magazine, Classic Rock Magazine, Music Gateway, Metal Sucks, Total Rock Radio, GigRadar, The Faction, Heavy Magazine, Distortion Radio, Rock Meeting, Moshville Times, Deezer, ERB Magazine, TIDAL, Distorted Sound Magazine, Banks Radio, Ollie Winiberg’s Heavy Hooks, and many other respected publications and platforms.
Following on from their ethereal and melancholy last single, Giant Walker’s upcoming release, ‘Left To Wreck’ showcases a more progressive sound - twisting and turning through a multitude of grooves and bouncy riffs, which keep you instinctively moving throughout.
“Lyrically, ‘Left To Wreck’ explores the notion that we are blind to the problems that don’t affect us and how this often creates the illusion that people don’t care.” Guitarist Jamie continues, “It’s definitely one of the heaviest songs we’ve written, which, looking back, probably stemmed from where we were at mentally whilst writing it. A change in management saw us being kicked out of our storage unit, which we had also been using as a rehearsal space - it felt like no one really cared about our situation as a band. The song was then written remotely because we didn’t have anywhere to physically play. Although, looking back it probably seems like a small issue now, it felt like a big curb in the road at the time - I think the song really encapsulates these frustrations.”
lyrics
Left to wreck
But no-one cares
It’s going down
It’s going down
Left to wreck
But no-one cares
It’s going down
It’s going down
I’m a river run dry
Been swallowed up by the sea
I’m the clouds as they pass you by
There’s nothing left in me
Keep burying our heads
But all we get is a mouth, a mouthful of sand
We’re left to wreck
But no-one cares
It’s going down
It’s going down
I’m the sun that caught the sky
Settled here all fancy free
We’re the people who don’t know why
Destroying it all so carelessly
Keep burying our heads
But all we get is a mouth, a mouthful of sand
We’re left to wreck
But no-one cares
It’s going down
It’s going down
Left to wreck
But no-one cares
It’s going down
It’s going, it’s going
It’s going down
Down
Sand
We’re left to wreck
But no-one cares
It’s going down
It’s going down
Left to wreck
But no-one cares
It’s going down
It’s going, it’s going
It’s going

Music & Lyrics by Giant Walker
Giant Walker are a Heavy Progressive Rock band from Newcastle, UK. The Geordie quartet was coincidentally born in the South,
bound together by their northern heritage and a shared love for bands such as Karnivool, Soundgarden, Radiohead and Deftones. Their music captures the many lows of loneliness and tips a hat to the music that gets you through hard times....more
I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately. spaceman2250
